When We Express Ourselves In The Most Heartfelt Loving And Kind Way We Receive Respect ♥♥♥♥

I raise Puppies with devotion and ethics. I only breed Affenpinschers, occasionally.  All are AKC registered.  Love is the ingredient.  My goal is to raise puppies that have an edge on life through love.  Affenpinscher's have their Canine Instinct intact, compared with all other small dogs.  All nurturing only enhances nature.   Everything is done with thought ahead of time, way before puppies get conceived.  I take care of these babies like they were my kids because they are my kids!

No mass production here, I don't like overlapping litters.  These are home raised puppies, its not a kennel.  Everyone is a cherished member of the family.  Right from the first day puppies are handled and get interacted with..  Babies require a lot of time, attention, and love, they deserve 100%.   Its an honer for me to know each puppy even if its only for such a short time they're here.

Maggy, Rudy, Flo, Vinny, Jitterbug, Tootsi, Twinkie, Abby Lou and Raven are my personal dogs. I sell their litters.  As a breeder, my goal in to understand and address every physial & emotional need of every individual puppy.  I have a vested interest in understanding them and placeing them well. I am devoted to these dogs, they're my life 24/7.

Although AKC sanctions line breeding (mother/son or father/daughter), I dont believe in this or practice it.  Yes it can accentuate good qualities but it also accentuates bad.  Show quality pups commonly have this in the pedigree.  Puppy mills commenly also have this, as a way around the cost; they can still produce puppies while using limited stock.  More genetic variation breeds a stronger animal, no matter what species it is.  That's what makes a mutt so genetically sound.

This is a rare breed, not easy to come by. You don’t see them in your local paper like other dogs. You have to go looking. But if you’ve ever known one of these little beauties then I don’t need to tell you, they are the most unusual breed out there. In the Toy Class, they are one of the oldest breeds, European.  Small but not delicate, they average around 10 pounds. They are serious cartoon characters. They're proud of their mischievous tricks, they love laughter.  They are very intelligent, devoted, and willing.  But don't expect to see them on any top 10 list, because they only rank the common breeds.

Mothers pass on their physical and psychological states.  Unconditional love, good food, a warm dry home w/their people/person is ideal.  A good Vet you like nearby.  The less grain in a dog food the better.  They need good food, we also give the mothers and weaning pups Goat milk.  We recommend it for all young dogs, its extra calcium for growing bones and very digestible.  Its a stress on any dog to live without a person, living in a kennel or being just a number. They can pass on the fear & insecurity of it to their puppies.

Behavioral problems can crop up in any dog.  I know you've heard this before, but you have to be careful about what behaviors you reinforce.  It can come about slowly and if your not paying attention you wont know how it got there.  They don't respond to tough love, they can be stubborn.  Rule with an iron first in a velvet glove. Don't stress the small stuff. They aren’t a breed for a family with very young kids.  They definitely aren’t for everyone.

I disagree that dogs don’t understand us, its more like miscommunication.  We do speak a different language, we teach them ours to a large degree, the smarter the dog the more they learn.  They not only want to understand, they learn to recognise words, phrases, & body language.  A miscommunication that repeatedly goes unsolved is where a bad behavior starts, its built up over time. Pay close attention to what you are reinforcing. About potty training, they can learn very young, its in their instinct not to go in the den. They want to go outside but the timing is critical until they get the hang of holding it. Holding it is not a natural instinct so it takes time to learn.

Potty training can be tricky with this breed, it could take longer.
It depends partly on the individual pup and partly on you. We use "Potty Pads" to begin them thinking about "going" in the right place.  By the time you take them home, they'll be familiar with it.  By months 3-5 they'll want to go outside . For puppies to learn to go outside, go there with them right after eating, after a nap, and after play.  More suggestions would be the obvious, when they sit by the door or look like their looking for a spot. Ideally, they should be taken out every few hours during the day, and praised lavishly when they go. Less often as the months go by, It is a commitment. Eventually any dog can adapt. Try to stay neutral whenever you don't catch them in the act.  It is essential that no scent of #1 or #2 be left, otherwise its a beacon for them to come back to.  Its a process that changes before you know it.

Affenpinschers are unique. It's easy see how they got the name Monkey Dog, they have a number of facial expressions. They have a prominent lower lip & their lower jaw comes out a little farther than the upper jaw.  The fur on their cheeks & jowls grows thick and gives their face a rounded look.  They have silly eyebrows that curl down in front in their face.  With a short nose and wide eyes they look monkeyish.  They’re very hardy, not at all weak or sickly or allergic. They shed very little. Their hair should never be cut, but only brushed.  Their coat is wiry, not prone to matting. They rank high on the hypoallergenic scale.

They are very loyal to family but aloof toward strangers, even outspoken. They would charge an enemy, especially in a pack.  They are active dogs and love to keep busy.  If nothing is happening they take a nap but they always listen for action. They are quite nimble and ready at all times for adventure.  As a puppy they will require training and socialization in order to cope with a busy house.  They have alot of affection for their person or family, but the opposite for strangers.

They all love toys, they have been my best fetchers, and we’ve had many breeds in the family, over the years. Some Affens are into it more than others. All the babies love toys but some adults consider themselves the king/queen. They especially love the squeekers, but the ones that fetch will always be at your side with any toy.

Affenpinschers really like obedience, especially the males. They have a natural  desire to please their person, the alpha puppies really get a lot out of obedience.. They wouldn't think of running away, they see their role very seriously.  Hunting is a favorite thing with them.  They make good little guard dogs, they're fearless. We’ve seen all dogs adhere to hierarchy, but Affens respond to humane guidance more like the German Shepherd. Puppies learn quickly if taught correctly and with kindness. They are eager to please you, but it must be reciprocated with unconditional love.
All my dogs understand "no barking", "stay inside", "outside", and "settle down".

We fully support the methods and beliefs of Cesar Millan.
His intuition is right on the nose.

The domestic dog originated in southern China less than 16,300 years ago, from several hundred wolves.

All our dogs are AKC registered, and conform to the standard. They are weight and height proportional. The AKC recognises tails left long (natural) or docked. At this point, I want to add that all our puppies will be natural, uncut. Its a cruel move to preform this on a puppy day 2. They need their tails and ears for communication. The AKC recognise ears left floppy (natural) or cropped. Affen’s come in black, belge, red, and combo’s. We have all blacks.
